Webdesk, TNI Islampur, 20th August, 2017: Disaster Subsides, adversity continues. This is the real sentence for the entire North during this Flood affected time. For providing relief it’s now Islampur’s Milanpally Agragami coming up in the forefront. The members of the club collected only dry food from the people of Islampur for helping the flood affected people of Uttar Dinajpur for the last two days. They arrived at Chakulia Block to help the people with puffed rice (muri), flat rice (poha), treacle (Gurr), Biscuits, Chanachur, Bananas, Water Bottles etc. before any administrative help could reach.
Throughout the day the club members distributed those to the flood affected people. The members were overwhelmed by the affection and blessings they received from the flood torn hungry and thirsty people out there. The area is yet to receive any help from the administration. People like Annya Roy, Archana Roy, Bimal Ch Roy, Sumitra Roy from the Bilpara, Birpara, Ramkrishnapur, Nizampur praised Millanpally Agragami Club and the residents of Miianpally for their help. The club secretary Mr. Bikram Das told TNI that “We never took any financial help from people though, they wanted to help. Instead, we took dry food for the people. This has helped the people here in reality.”
